The J.D. Byrider Foundation was created in 2001 by our founder, Jim DeVoe, and his wife Andrea, as a way for us to give back to the community. The principal focus of the foundation is to support causes and organizations that provide education, nurturing and spiritual development for our youth.
- The foundation sponsors the Little Star Center, a private, non-profit school where children with autism receive individualized therapeutic intervention. Little Star provides an atmosphere where children, therapists, and families can interact, support each other and receive on-going training. Through this combination, children can reach their full potential at home and in a variety of settings outside of therapy.
- The foundation has been a long-time supporter of Camptown Inc., an Indianapolis-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing youths in Central Indiana with the learning experiences of wilderness adventures.
- Significant support is also given to such organizations as the American Heart Association, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Riley Children’s Foundation, Gleaner’s Food Bank, and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Since its inception, the J.D. Byrider Foundation has donated more than $750,000 to charitable organizations.
