Byrider plans for expansion with new vice president of franchise developmentNew position has restaurant veteran serving as the company’s go-to for franchise growth CARMEL, Ind. – Poised to continue their growth in new markets, leading used car and finance company franchise J.D. Byrider has hired J. Michael Pearce as vice president of franchise development. Pearce is responsible for increasing the number of locations by licensing new franchisees to the J.D. Byrider system, as well as licensing existing franchisees for expansion. Pearce, along with the company’s real estate team, is also responsible for site selection and construction consulting for franchisees.
“During the past 20 years, we’ve developed a successful franchise model with an incredible support system. We created this new position because it’s the right time to more aggressively identify entrepreneurs and bring them into the system,” said Steve Wedding, president – Byrider Franchising, Inc. “Mike’s experience growing franchise organizations is a perfect match for J.D. Byrider, and we’re enthusiastic about what we can accomplish with him on our team.”
A 20-year franchising veteran, Pearce most recently served as senior vice president of development for bd’s Mongolian Grill, a chain of 38 casual dining restaurants based in Burnsville, Minn.
Prior to that, Pearce served as vice president of franchise development for Domino’s Pizza, Inc., where he created an external franchising model, as well as hired and trained a 14-person franchise sales staff. Previously, Pearce served as vice president of franchise development for Sagittarius Brands, LLC, the holding company of Del Taco and Captain D’s Seafood Kitchen, and as director of franchise development for Back Yard Burgers, Inc. Pearce also worked for 10 years selling build-to-suit development services to franchisees from various brands and industries.
“I have spent my entire career assisting franchisees in expanding their businesses and net worth,” said Pearce. “I look forward to speaking with potential franchisees about the J.D. Byrider business model and working to help new locations succeed.”
Pearce earned a master’s degree in business administration from Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business, where he concentrated his studies in real estate finance and development.
